The learning Cottage is focused on providing excellent teaching services to children with Special Needs.
The Learning Cottage lessons are focused on the child's individual needs. In addition to an academic focus, the learning cottage aims to focus on the whole child by teaching and reinforcing a love of learning by tapping into what interests your child.
In addition, we provide opportunities for movement, hands on learning, multisensory experiences, sensory input, and executive functioning skills all in the safe space of your home through our digital learning environment.

Well Rounded Learning for the whole child
Personalized Teaching
Your child's sessions, learning plans, and/or crates are catered to them and their individual learning needs. Needs are reviewed and determined by teacher and parent collaboration and review Individualized Education Plans (IEP's)
Homeschool Learning Partner
The learning Cottage team works alongside homeschooling families ranging from teaching sessions to curriculum support and selection. The Learning Cottage can support you in your homeschooling journey!
Digital Learning
All learning sessions will take place in a digital learning platform with a certified teacher. Our digital learning platform is engaging, fun, unique, and motivating. This all takes place in the comfort of your child's home where they feel safe and are better able to focus and learn.
Expert advice

The Learning Cottage provides advocating services, from IEP review, expert advice on the process, and advocating for you and your family throughout the process.

We have nothing but good things to say about Mrs. Young, she truly has a love for teaching and my son absolutely loves her and can’t wait for his tutoring sessions with her every week!
My first grader is really not fond of math and has been struggling with getting caught up to grade level, but with Mrs. Young’s help and support, he is now within only 5 points of being on grade level! He really enjoys how Mrs. Young makes learning fun and I am happy knowing that she caters her learning style to the individual and takes the time to understand how my son learns best!
My son is quite wiggly so she gives him the opportunity to take short breaks to get his wiggles out, allows him some time to chat and balances it all out with on point and effective teaching techniques.
As a parent I appreciate the reports after each session, showing me what they worked on and keeping the lines of communication open so that we are all on the same page with his learning goals. My sons teachers have even mentioned noticing a boost in his confidence while working independently at school!
We look forward to collaborating more with Mrs. Young and the services provided by The Learning Cottage and plan to add on reading support at some point in the near future!
